Satanic Miracles and the Final Deception

         Pope Francis and Satan’s Impersonation

As Seventh-day Adventists, we are called to test every spirit against God’s Word (1 John 4:1, KJV), for in the last days, Satan works “with all power and signs and lying wonders” (2 Thessalonians 2:9-10, KJV). Ellen G. White warns, “The enemy is preparing to deceive the whole world by his miracle-working power. He will assume to personate the angels of light, to personate Jesus Christ” (Selected Messages, Vol. 2, p. 96). Two events tied to Pope Francis—the 1996 Eucharistic miracle in Buenos Aires and Stacey Campbell’s 2007 vision—reveal Satan’s hand in orchestrating deceptive miracles. This article argues that these satanic works position Francis as the vessel for Satan’s final impersonation, leading the world to perdition.

The 1996 Eucharistic Miracle: Satan’s Bloody Deception

On August 15, 1996, at the Church of Santa Maria y Caballito Almagro in Buenos Aires, a parishioner dropped a consecrated host, deemed “soiled,” and left it on a candleholder. Father Alejandro Pezet placed it in water to dissolve, per Catholic protocol, and stored it in the tabernacle. On August 26, the host had transformed into a reddish, bloody substance, resembling flesh. Archbishop Jorge Bergoglio, later Pope Francis, ordered professional photographs on September 6, capturing a vivid, red, textured mass, unlike the original white host. By 1999, the tissue showed no decomposition despite being in water, defying natural decay.
Scientific analysis, authorized by Bergoglio, began in 1999. Dr. Ricardo Castañón Gómez collected a sample, sending it to Forensic Analytical Genetics Laboratory in San Francisco, which found human DNA and blood but no complete DNA profile. In 2002, Professor John Walker identified intact heart muscle cells and white blood cells, impossible after years in water. In 2004, Dr. Frederick Zugibe confirmed it as left ventricular heart tissue, showing trauma and inflammation, with living cells suggesting the heart was “alive” when sampled. The tissue, blood type AB, remained preserved without preservatives, a scientific anomaly (Magis Center, 2024).
Adventists see this as a satanic miracle, orchestrated by Satan to promote transubstantiation, a pagan doctrine tied to the immortality of the soul. Ellen White warns, “Through the two great errors, the immortality of the soul and Sunday sacredness, Satan will bring the people under his deceptions” (The Great Controversy, p. 588). The “living” tissue and lack of decay are “lying wonders” (2 Thessalonians 2:9), designed to exalt Bergoglio and deceive millions, as White cautions: “He who could appear clothed with the brightness of the heavenly seraphs… comes to men in the most attractive manner as an angel of light” (The Great Controversy, p. 554).

Stacey Campbell’s 2007 Vision: Satan’s False Prophecy

In 2007, charismatic leader Stacey Campbell claimed a vision in Buenos Aires, predicting Cardinal Bergoglio would become the next pope. Her husband, Wesley, shared this at the Kairos 2017 convention, framing it as divine confirmation of Francis’s 2013 election. Adventists must test such visions, as White warns, “Satan and the angels who fell with him will appear on the earth as men, seeking to deceive” (Manuscript Releases, Vol. 8, p. 399).
This vision, orchestrated by Satan, presents Bergoglio as a prophetic figure to advance Rome’s ecumenical agenda. White notes, “The forms of the dead will appear, through the cunning device of Satan, and many will link up with the one who loveth and maketh a lie” (Last Day Events, p. 171). This false prophecy prepares the world for Satan’s impersonation of Francis as a glorified leader, deceiving even Protestants.

Satanic Impersonation and Spiritualism

White’s warnings about spiritualism are urgent: “He has power to bring before men the appearance of their departed friends…. Many will be confronted by the spirits of devils personating beloved relatives or friends and declaring the most dangerous heresies” (The Great Controversy, p. 552). Since Francis’s death on April 21, 2025, unverified reports of Marian apparitions and miracles, like the March 2025 weeping statue in Colombia, signal Satan’s activity. These satanic signs exploit Francis’s legacy to pave the way for a false resurrection.
The 1996 miracle and Campbell’s vision form a satanic pattern, positioning Francis as Satan’s chosen figure. The Lateran Basilica, tied to the 1929 Lateran Treaty that restored papal influence, and Francis’s burial at the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, steeped in Marian spiritualism, amplify this deception. White warns, “As the crowning act in the great drama of deception, Satan himself will personate Christ” (The Great Controversy, p. 624), and Francis’s prominence makes him a prime candidate.

The Prophetic Context: Francis and the Eighth King

Revelation 17’s beast, wounded in 1798 and healed in 1929, culminates in the “seven kings” (Popes Pius XI to Benedict XVI) and the eighth, Francis, who “goeth into perdition” (Revelation 17:11, KJV). Satan’s miracles, like the 1996 bloody host, elevate Francis’s legacy, setting the stage for his impersonation as probation closes.
A Call to Vigilance
Adventists must heed White’s counsel: “Those who oppose the teachings of spiritualism are assailing, not men alone, but Satan and his angels” (The Great Controversy, p. 559). The 1996 Eucharistic miracle and Stacey Campbell’s 2007 vision, orchestrated by Satan, reveal his plan to impersonate Pope Francis. As probation closes, Satan will “plunge the inhabitants of the earth into one great, final trouble” (The Great Controversy, p. 623). Let us cling to the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy, exposing these deceptions and preparing for Christ’s return.
The signs are unmistakable: through satanic miracles, Satan is using Pope Francis’s legacy to fulfill prophecy. May we pray, study, and proclaim the truth, standing firm against “the wrath of Satan” (The Great Controversy, p. 623) until our Savior comes.
